About Us

Play Based Learning

Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare is a not-for-profit centre with a rich history (since 1992) of offering care and play-based education for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years.

The Early Years Learning Framework is the foundation for the curriculum provided by our experienced team of Educators who foster safe, nurturing and child-focussed relationships. At ‘Bayside’, play-based learning opportunities are purposefully scaffolded to enable child-lead choices to meet and challenge each child’s developmental stage, through a range of fun activities that make full use of our large rooms, generous natural grounds and ‘rainforest garden’. Here, children help grow vegetables and herbs that become ingredients for the home-cooked lunches provided daily on-site.

Centre Families instigated our recent name change. Our Management Committee, Educators, Volunteers and members of our local Community have developed the logo to symbolise our Centre philosophy of maintaining a strong foundation to nourish each child’s growth and potential through connectedness with Family, Educators and the wider Community in our natural setting.

Why Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare?

At Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare, we are passionate about providing children with positive learning tools, spaces and experiences.
Large outdoor play spaces

We work with families to enhance each child’s interest and help develop confidence, communication skills and a lifelong love of learning.

Being located in Alexandra Hills, we are very fortunate to have large outdoor play spaces connecting children with nature each day. Our natural outdoor spaces offer children an array of positive, hands-on and authentic experiences with nature which encourages the development of creativity and problem-solving. Our outdoor play spaces have hills, bike paths, trees, grass, vegetable gardens, climbing spaces, slides and swings. Our team believe that being outdoors and connecting with nature helps children develop cognitive abilities, increases physical activity, improves social relations, improves self-discipline, self-control and self-discipline. Nature is important to children’s development in every major way—intellectually, emotionally, socially, spiritually and physically while giving children a more peaceful learning environment and helping to reduce stress.

Positive learning experiences

Our indoor play spaces are equipped with learning tools and resources to continue their positive learning experiences such as books, blocks, drawing and collage equipment, dress up clothes and puzzles along with different areas where the only limitation is the children’s imaginations! We love to display children’s artwork and learning observations so families can catch up on the goings on of their children’s development during their time with our team and continue learning at home.

Many of our educators are locals and several either have or have had their very own children in our centre for their early education. Our team are very passionate about their careers in early education and all hold or are working towards qualifications in early education and childcare. We are very fortunate to have a qualified Kindergarten teacher deliver an Approved Kindergarten Program Monday to Friday.

Not for profit community childcare centre

Bayside Kindergarten and Childcare is a not for profit community childcare centre. As an Incorporated Association, our centre is lead by a volunteer Management Committee made up of parents and local community representatives as well as Tafe Brisbane representatives.

At Bayside, we love meeting new families or seeing new members of a family join their siblings as they grow and develop through to ‘big school’. Please feel free to call our friendly team or pop in to see us today!
